DESCRIPTION

Upon receiving signals from the switches, the main body ECU illuminates the lights.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1.

PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (ILLUMINATION LIGHT)

(a) Connect the Techstream to DLC3.

(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Turn the room light switch to the DOOR position.

(e) All doors closed (courtesy light switches OFF).

(f) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Body / Active Test / Illuminated Entry System.

(g) Check the illumination lights while operating the main body ECU using the Techstream.

INSPECT FUSE (DOME)


(a) Remove the DOME fuse from the engine room relay block.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

(c) Reinstall the DOME.

3.

CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DOME FUSE - MAIN BODY ECU)


(a) Disconnect the DD main body ECU connector.

(b) measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage:

(c) Reconnect the main body ECU connector.

4.

INSPECT TRANSPONDER KEY AMPLIFIER (IGNITION KEY CYLINDER LIGHT)


(a) Remove the transponder key amplifier (ignition key cylinder light) THEFT DETERRENT / KEYLESS ENTRY: TRANSPONDER KEY AMPLIFIER: REMOVAL (2008 Sequoia) .

(b) Connect the battery positive (+) lead to terminal 2 (ILL+) and the negative (-) lead to terminal 6 (ILL-), and then check that the light turns on.

OK:

Tester Connection

Specified Condition

Positive battery → 2 (ILL+)

negative battery → 1 (ILL-)

Ignition key cylinder light turns on.

(c) Reinstall the transponder key amplifier (ignition key cylinder light).

OK

5.

CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (IGNITION KEY CYLINDER LIGHT - BATTERY)


(a) Disconnect the H27 transponder key amplifier (ignition key cylinder light) connector.

(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage:

(c) Reconnect the transponder key amplifier (ignition key cylinder light) connector.

6.

INSPECT FOOT LIGHT


(a) Remove the foot light LIGHTING (INT): FOOTWELL LIGHT: REMOVAL (2008 Sequoia) .

(b) Connect the battery positive (+) lead to terminal 2 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 1, and then check that the light turns on.

OK:

Positive battery → 1

negative battery → 2

Foot light turns on.

(c) Reinstall the foot light.

7.

CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FOOT LIGHT - BATTERY)


(a) Disconnect the H60 foot light connector.

(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

(c) Reconnect the foot light connector.

8.

PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (ILLUMINATED ENTRY)

(a) Connect the Techstream to DLC3.

(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Turn the room light switch DOOR position.

(e) All doors closed (courtesy light switches OFF).

(f) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Body / Active Test / Illuminated Entry System.

(g) Check the illumination lights while operating the main body ECU using the Techstream.

INSPECT INTERIOR DOME LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY


(a) Remove the interior room light switch assembly LIGHTING (INT): ROOM LIGHT SWITCH: REMOVAL (2008 Sequoia) .

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

(a) Disconnect the J7 interior room light switch assembly connector.

(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

11.

INSPECT ROOF CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY (PERSONAL LIGHT)


(a) Remove the roof console box assembly.

  • for short type roof console box INTERIOR PANELS / TRIM: FRONT CONSOLE BOX: DISASSEMBLY (2008 Sequoia)+ .
  • for long type roof console box INTERIOR PANELS / TRIM: FRONT CONSOLE BOX: DISASSEMBLY (2008 Sequoia)+ .

(b) Roof console box (personal light) switch is OFF position.

(c) Connect the battery positive (+) lead to terminal 2 (B) and the negative (-) lead to terminal 1 (CTY), and then check that the light turns on.

OK:

Personal light turns on.

(d) Reinstall the roof console box assembly.

  • w/ rear seat entertainment system INTERIOR PANELS / TRIM: ROOF HEADLINING: REMOVAL (2008 Sequoia)+

(b) No. 1 room light switch is OFF position.

(c) Connect the battery positive (+) lead to terminal 1(B) and the negative (-) lead to terminal 3 (CTY), and then check that the light turns on.

OK:

w/o Rear Seat Entertainment System

No. 1 room light turns on.

(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

(a) Remove the No. 2 room light assembly INTERIOR PANELS / TRIM: ROOF HEADLINING: REMOVAL (2008 Sequoia)+ .

(b) No. 2 room light switch is OFF position.

(c) Connect the battery positive (+) lead to terminal 1 (B) and the negative (-) lead to terminal 3 (CTY), and then check that the light turns on.

OK:

No. 2 room light turns on.

(d) Reinstall the No. 2 room light assembly.

CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 2 ROOM LIGHT ASSEMBLY - DOME FUSE)


(a) Disconnect the U9 No. 2 room light assembly connector.

(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
